Arnold - 1840 Census

1840 Census

Sterling Arnold first appears on the 1840 Census in Brunswick County.
He is listed as head of household, a household that contains the following people:

1 M aged 15-20
1 F aged 20-30
1 F aged 50-60

By default, the male has to be Sterling himself, putting him born between 1820 and 1825.
We conjecture that the older woman in the house is his mother.  We will look at evidence for that.
Not sure who the other female is, but we will work on possibilities.

Hewetts on the same page of the census include

Isaac
Alfred
Joseph
Mary
Randall
Uriah
John
Elijah

He's living among a bunch of Hewetts.  There is also a John Sellars -- we'll check him out as a possible future father-in-law later.

There is a Nathan Arnold listed in the county as well, with household

1 M 20-30
1 F 0-5
1 F 15-20
